Don't know the detials of adding a badge: technical wheels will have to turn before we get to that stage.

Well you are doing all that is requried of Jing. The yellow ball is probably hiding in the top right of the screen. Seems like something is busted. Can only suggest reinstalling it, or connecting to it. They have a good web site which might explain the solution. But starting again is usually effective. Have used it on several computers with no problems. Thanks for the badge idea: we have it listed as a new feature.

Can I make a suggestion? I 've just joined Classroom 2.0 and they have an optional widget that one can add to a blog, like a badge for members. Wouldn't it be a good idea for Edna to offer such a widget so that we could add it to our blogs and so promote Edna in the online education community?

Hi John - thanks for getting back to me so promptly. *chuckle* anyone old enough to have B/W photos of their childhood is getting on a bit, don't you think? I just tried Jing again and will walk through what I did so that perhaps you can tell me what I'm doing wrong. First I clicked on the little orange ball at the top of my screen, moved the capture 'fences' around a little bit, and then clicked on video on the little orange and brown menu in the LHS of my screen. I made some inane commentary for about 15 seconds and then pressed the stop button. And then nothing happens. The little menu is still there (and won't go away) and the orange fences are still there at the top and bottom of the captured area. The orange ball at the top of my screen has vanished. Any suggestions? Lisa

Lisa, Just tried out Jing, looking for problems and it should be really easy: You see a display of the capture immediately. I just did this one. http://screencast.com/t/vjyBV4qc of your page. Let me know what you see.
