About Me

I am currently working at education.au as Education Officer for Global Education and Online Projects. I have previously worked in South Australian Primary schools as a classroom teacher, and as a teacher of Japanese. I spent some time working with the South Australian Department of Education and Children's Services Learning Technologies team providing professional development for teachers in the use of ICT, digital resources and Moodle In my current position at education.au I am responsible for the AusAID global education website and am part of a team developing the new Global Projects service hosted at OzProjects: http://ozprojects.edu.au/. As well as creating projects for teachers to use with their students, I support teachers who wish to create their own projects.I regularly present workshops and conference sessions on emerging technologies and online learning.

Hi Cecily, I?m working on a charity project called ?KeyLessons? which is diverting old keyboards from landfill and converting them into learning devices for disadvantaged children in developing countries where pens, paper, educational resources and teachers are scarce. I?m seeking the support of a qualified teacher who would like to get involved in this project and offer their skills to assist with developing the lesson plans that would accompany the keyboard learning device. As I?m not from the teaching profession I was hoping that in your capacity as Education Officer for Global Education that you would be able to provide me with some ideas / advice on how I could go about this. I have an image of the prototype keyboard learning device and further information available. Kind regards, Alison

Great blog initiation Cecily: got my interests to follow your path. Might be good to add literacy as a tag? and or reading? I am just feeling my way with tags but they are cheap and whatever helps to find stuff is good I guess. More blog entries please and tell your connections in schools please. Good for people's ego to do a little publishing.

Hi Cecily, Just got around to checking my emails this week. When I get up in the morning I don't switch on my computer, but instead go for the healthier option of a walk with the dog. We are glad Peter rang and organised a date for dinner. We are looking forward to it. Jenny
