I went to an Australian Society of Music Education (ASME - SA branch) conference today which focused on the value of utilising the tools of Popular Culture - such as video sharing platforms such as You Tube in Educational settings. We heard from Dr. Michael Webb, Jim Eddson and Jen Siebert - all very engaging and inspiring educators! - who at one time or another mentioned using You Tube as a vehicle for encouraging student reflection and authentic learning.
