Nice little piece of information phil, it has some good ideas and interesting statistics.

Once I get my head around it, I think I'll use it. The idea of being
able to comment on an article for others to read, without them having to
look through the information to find what you're talking about. This
appears to be a great way to express thoughts and ideas.

Here's my digital story from EDET 2305-Multimedia Literacy.
Poverty, Wealth and Digital Education.
The story came together quite well after initially coming to terms with what I wanted to do. I had the concept of telling a story about the digital era and how it will transform education for the developed world and for the developing/ third world with a little help from governments and sponsors. I left this as a question because who really knows what the future holds, especially in the uncertain times with global economic instability.
Picking my photoâs for the story was time consuming, although I had a story board, it still took some time, keeping in mind that all photos from Flickr has some type of rights reserved. For the text I used Photoshop to create the slides bringing simple visual images of the story together. The qualities of the images were of medium quality 640 by 480 at 72 dpi. I thought there is no need to have the picture of any higher resolution than the screen you are watching it on. I find that simplicity hold the key to making a story work.
The biggest problem that I incurred was how to match the script with the storyboard and producing clear voiceovers for the story. I originally recorded the script then played around with the visual aspects of the story to try and make it fit together in sync. Sillily I tried to make the visual story images fit with the recorded draft script version of my voice. Very Dumb, a good lesson learned as I spent the better half of a morning reworking the story with the final script.
Voice, I found Photo story 3âs recording tool very annoying, designed well but for some reason it didnât work for me. The quality of sound was appalling, I donât know if it was my microphone set up or what? What I did find was how easy it was to record background music and voice using Audacity, the clarity was great. Making it fit with the timing of the pictures in the story was a little tricky but I got there.
Music, I originally thought of using two distinct and contrasting music selections, in the end I found the one constant sound for this story was more appropriate. I chose Samuel Barbers composed âAdagio for Stringsâ for the music. I went searching for this piece of music when I watched Oliver Stones Classic film Platoon. I knew this was the mood I wanted to set for my story. The somber and sadness feel it creates flows with the story.
Overall it was an interesting little adventure, I hope you enjoy!

Truth or Myth?
Does this mean anything for general health? What does this mean for students and children who use this technology regularly? If you are a parent what does this mean for you?
I know there is a lot of questions about this, I am interested in others comments as I have young kids. For myself I'm interested in the study's that may come out in the future for the use of mobile phones and the possible harms associated with them.

Just a tip for those such as myself who have had trouble embeding video to Me.edu.au, or more to the point new to it. I searched on this site for embeding video and found a entry from Alison Halls blog . This helped me embed a Utube video to my blog.
